Enjoy a 2 hour cruise along the Union Canal aboard narrowboat Bluebell.
Leave the canal basin at Port Buchan in Broxburn and cruise at a leisurely 4 miles an hour to the Almond Aqueduct (also known as the Lin's Mill Aqueduct) which carries the Union Canal over the River Almond.
The aqueduct was built to a design by Hugh Baird with advice from Thomas Telford and is the smallest of three aqueducts built on the Union Canal.Baird had originally proposed to have only a single span, with embankments carrying the canal the rest of the way, but eventually decided to use the same design as the other two, the Slateford and Avon Aqueducts.
After crossing the aqueduct on the boat, with views from high above the River Almond, there'll be chance to disembark for a short while to walk across the bridge if you wish and learn a little about the history of the area.
Tea or coffee and biscuits will be served during the cruise.
The cruise departs at 11am, returning to your starting point around 2 hours later, at 4pm.
Price: £10.00 plus booking fee. Online booking is essential.
