Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Information and Updates

As West Lothian attractions, accommodation providers and cafes/pubs/restaurants take advice from Government, most are closing to protect the safety of staff and visitors. 

Confirmed closures...

A number of attractions (below) have announced closures within the past few days. You are strongly advised to check before you travel to any venue within West Lothian over the coming weeks. 

  • Aerial Adventures Livingston is closed.
  • West Lothian Council Parks: parks can be used for exercise as long as the rules on social distancing are adhered to.

    It is very important that there’s no use of Children’s play parks/areas. Children’s play areas are closed. Please don’t gather at benches, picnic tables or anywhere else. The national advice is: Public gatherings of more than two people who do not live together are to be prohibited. 

  • All Historic Environment Scotland Sites within West Lothian closed, including Linlithgow Palace, Blackness Castle & Cairnpapple Hill.
  • Howden Park Centre has postponed events 
  • Linlithgow Museum has been closed 
  • West Lothian Leisure (Xcite) are closed 
  • Linlithgow Burgh Halls is now closed
  • Eeek Escape Rooms Linlithgow is now closed
  • Almond Valley Heritage Centre is now closed
  • Linlithgow Union Canal Society has suspended all operations
  • Five Sisters Zoo is now closed, although now operating a garden centre delivery service.
  • Military Museum Scotland is now closed
  • Almondell & Calderwood Country Park's Visitor Centre, public toiletsBBQ area and the North car park are closed
  • Beecraigs' Visitor Centre (including toilets), Balvormie public toilets and play area, Sutherland Building, Animal Attraction Viewing Shed, Beecraigs Caravan & Camping Site, all car parks and BBQ area are closed
  • The Hideaway Cafe at Beecraigs is closed 
  • Polkemmet Country Park - West Lothian Leisure facilities, the Scottish Owl Centre, public car parks, play areas, all car parks and public toilets.  
  • All West Lothian Council Ranger Service events and bookings have been cancelled until further notice
  • Heritage Indian in Bathgate will reopened on Wednesday 22nd, offering a 20% discount for NHS, CARERS AND ALL EMERGENCY STAFF
