Sky’s The Limit in Scotland!

A great adventure destination for the whole family, the EICA (Edinburgh International Climbing Arena) is Europe’s largest indoor climbing arena and is packed full of fun activities for all ages all under the one roof.

The EICA is home to the only IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) world standard speed climbing and difficulty wall in the UK as well as numerous new easier routes on slabs. A world class attraction just outside Edinburgh in the scenic village of Ratho showcases a striking feat of engineering and architecture craftsmanship. A state-of-the-art sporting facility that’s been hued out and suspended out of a disused quarry.

Clip ‘n Climb at EICA -  children and adults can challenge themselves on the Stairway to Heaven, the Vertical Drop Slide,  Astroball, or any of our 15 exciting and colourful climbing elements .  Have an amazing time whether you’re 4 or 84!. No experience necessary – just Clip ‘n Climb. Walls on offer range from 12m to 28m in height.

There are over 11,000 bolt-on holds in the centre, with 300 routes ranging in difficulty from grades 2 to 8b. The Aerial Assault course is an assault course suspended 30 metres (98 ft) above the main hall, which takes around 30 minutes and is open to anybody over 1.4 metres (4 ft 7 in) tall. As well as a trio of boulders in the centre of the main hall, there is a dedicated bouldering room, with routes ranging in difficulty from V0 to V15. Two identical speed walls allow speed climbing competitions to be conducted head to head, and there is an articulated competition wall known as "The Hanger" that can be raised or lowered to change the angle of overhang.

The arena’s Café Refresh offers a range of hearty pies and homemade soups, as well as a pleasingly diverse range of salads, tray bakes, gluten-free treats and great coffee. Relax and take in the spectacular view of the quarry over some refreshments whilst the kids blow off some steam in our popular Scrambles Softplay or RockTots Play Café for Under 5’s.

Abseiling
– take the plunge into a 25-metre descent of pure thrill-seeking, adrenalin-rushing fun.
Bouldering
– stay closer to the ground and go rope-less to build strength and tackle technical and mental challenges.
Soft Play
– babies, toddlers and younger children also get their fair share of thrills with a big bouncy castle and tons and tons of toys.
Café
– simmer down or seek solace from the buzzing stations over a nice cuppa and a bite to eat.
